June’s Physics club was delighted to welcome three Imberhorne alumni who came to talk to year 10 and 11 students about A level Physics and where it has taken them. We heard inspiring talks from students currently studying physics at Manchester University and geoscience at Royal Holloway with input from another Bristol University Physics student about student work/life balance. Another student sent a video describing life studying mechanical engineering at Birmingham University and most impressively, his part in University of Birmingham Racing who design, build, and race formula cars in a cross-University competition each year. Our current students were able to gain a deeper understanding both of university life and the opportunities that taking physics and STEM subjects can open up to them in the future.
