Grease The Musical 21st-23rd November 2013

When a show such as Grease is over it always leaves a big whole due to the sheer number of hours spent in rehearsals, making costumes, learning lines and practicing the numbers in the lead up to the production. There were certainly lots of gloomy faces from the students involved in the show around school in the week following our sell-out success at Chequer Mead. However, there are so many fantastic, life-long memories that being in a show brings to the cast, musicians and backstage helpers. For me, Grease has been a hugely exciting and fun project to work on. The skill, talent and energy of all the students involved were totally remarkable, as was the fantastic camaraderie and team work that went into putting on the show. I believe students increased their skills not just in acting, singing, dancing and musicianship but also in listening, cooperation, problem solving and focus to name but a few of the transferable skills involved. Thank you to all the students for their work, to all the staff who helped make it happen and to all the parents for their continued support throughout the project.Mr J WatsonHead of Drama
