Rugby Tour 2013 16th-21st May 2013

Our Rugby tourists returned from the prestigious Tournoi de Trente in Lanester, Brittany on 21st May – the ninth time we have taken on the cream of French rugby in their own territory. Our two teams, a Y8 and a combined  Y9 & 10 squad made Imberhorne proud – with a third place for the younger group and eighth place for the seniors – a remarkable achievement for the only English school team against clubs from all over France. The group trained hard for the event, both on the beach near our ‘home’ base and at Guidol Rugby Club. Our coveted ‘Best Tourist’ award went to Rory Duncanson, who was also named ‘Best Player’. Under 13’s most improved player was Jonny Hands and Milo Price was top try scorer. The under 15’s most improved player was Cameron Reynolds, and the Best Player award went to Jack Wilkins. Philip Hatch was top try scorer.Mr Marshall organised the tour, supported by Mr Swan, Mr Jeffs, Mr Owens and former students Alex Dunn and Tom Lannaway.Vive l’Imberhorne!
