Year 9 Careers Workshop - 24th January 2012
On 24th January the whole of Year 9 took part in a one hour careers workshop involving 18 local volunteers from the world of work. The students worked in small groups to try and ascertain what profession their volunteer was in. They could only ask questions that would obtain a “yes” or “no” answer and after 5 minutes their job title was revealed to the students and the volunteer was able to talk with them about the qualifications needed for their job and the skills required. The students were able to gain an insight into 18 different professions ranging from Events Coordinator to Consultant Prosthesist. It was a really positive and enjoyable workshop for all involved and we thank all of our local professionals for giving up their time to spend with our students.
